Garry Miller
It started with sheep. I like sheep. I think there’s nothing better than working with my dogs and our flock of sheep. I’m a plumber by trade and have been self-employed for 30 years, but during that time I’ve always kept sheep and been interested in farming and the countryside. These days plumbing has taken a back seat and I’m lucky enough to farm full time now that we also run farm tours. I also love our herd of Galloway cattle and working with my bee’s.
Hazel Miller
Hello I’m Hazel, the wife and mother of the family. My main job is running the free-range hen unit which consists of 6000 ladies, their happiness and welfare is my main priority. I also help take care of all the other animals on the farm and try and keep the humans fed and watered. I also enjoy being creative with food and recipes as I have a catering background.
Amy Miller
Hi I’m Amy, the eldest of the children. I have a biology degree and soon to be a Masters degree, focusing on cellular and molecular biology. Although I’m not as involved in the farm as my siblings, I help out when needed. I’m very interested in science communication, and using science, new technologies and critical thinking skills to improve current practices and our relationship with the environment. I currently put my skills to use where I work in a laboratory for the Animal Plant health Agency which is ran by DEFRA and facilitates disease surveillance and international trade of plants and animals.

Hello, my name is Tamar, I’m the second eldest daughter. I work on part-time at home and part-time for our local National Farmers Union in a coordinator role. I also have a degree in animal welfare and behaviour, as well as a diploma in agriculture. I have previously worked out in New Zealand on farms, as well as various dairy farms in the UK, and on a research farm for Scotland’s Rural College. However, I have always enjoyed helping out the most on our farm at home. In my spare time I enjoy horse riding and training my sheep dogs.

Hi I’m Zak, Kyle’s best friend from school, and now another member of the family. I currently work between here and a local dairy farm. I have been here, helping out on the farm since the first lockdown in March 2020, and have been coming back ever since. I also have an apprenticeship in joinery but I’m most keen on farming and will do any job big or small. I’m always keen to learn more. I love doing sheep work, riding my trials bike and training my sheepdogs.
