Come and learn about farming life by taking a tour of our Lake District farm.

We are a family run farm on the edge of the Lake District and have been farming here for 25 years. Taking a tour with us gives you the opportunity to gain an understanding of food production and a chance to connect with local farming and the countryside. See our sheep, cows, pigs, hens and sheepdogs working out in the field. We look forward to welcoming you at Miller Farming!

Private Farm Tour – 1 Hour 30 Minutes

£400 + VAT (up to 20 people)

Join Garry and Hazel for a guided tour of the farm, where you’ll hear about the history of the farm and local area, as well as our own farming journey and the nature recovery work we have done.

Your visit may include:

Visiting our free-range hens

Meeting our cattle, sheep, goats and pigs

Feeding the sheep and goats

Seeing seasonal arrivals such as lambs, calves or piglets

Watching our dairy cow being milked (depending on the time of year)

A mini sheep dog demonstration and chance to meet the furry team

We are also able to host school visits, and government funding may be available to help cover the cost of educational farm tours for those under 18 with booking through a school.

Private Sheep Dog Demonstration – 1 Hour

£300 + VAT (up to 20 people)

Meet the dogs, hear how they’ve always played an important role on our farm, and watch Garry demonstrate how young sheep dogs are trained. You’ll see dogs working at different stages of training, finishing with our fully trained dogs working together around a typical trial course.

Booking Enquiries

Please complete the enquiry form and include at least two suggested dates. Please note: suggested dates do not guarantee a booking, as availability depends on our farming schedule and existing commitments.

Please read carefully before booking your visit 

We recommend wearing wellies or walking boots as footwear will need to be regularly disinfected for biosecurity reasons. A waterproof coat is also recommended due to our unpredictable climate.

We strongly advise that pregnant women do not visit the farm during lambing time, as there is a risk that coming into contact with sheep during pregnancy can cause health implications. You can find out more about this on the Government website

Please ensure you arrive at least 5 minutes prior to event start time, as events will start on time.

Dogs are strictly prohibited on the farm tour but may be left in vehicles on site.

Please be aware that there are honey bees on site.

Please note that the farm tour starts at a different address to the shop, please check the booking website for the correct location.

Please be aware, during tours we talk a lot about farming which may not always be very engaging for young children.
